Synopsis
In the dying light of Roman Britain, where abandoned roads crumble into mire and the last echoes of the Eagle have faded into myth, a new king rises. Uther's heir, Arthur, has yet to draw the sword from the stone, yet his name already kindles hope across a fractured land. Amid the chaos, a young warband leader named Cynfael ap Bryn, heir to a forgotten hillfort, discovers he carries more than his father’s blade—he wields a gift of sight, a power to awaken the spirits sleeping in the earth. When Saxon warlords, led by the relentless Aelle, forge alliances with shadow-touched druids, Cynfael must summon the old gods of the Britons to counter a sorcery that threatens to drown the island in blood. From the mist-shrouded hills of Gwynedd to the war-torn plains of Badon, he will ride beside Arthur, wrestling with the price of his power as kings fall, relics bleed, and the fate of a nation balances on the edge of a single, shining spear.
