Yet beneath this mortal chaos stirs an older war. The bloodlines of Mars, Minerva, and the sun-god Mithras still run in the veins of forgotten dynasties, granting their heirs the strength of demigods and the madness of their divine patrons.

Cast out from the Legio X Fretensis, a minor legionary named Aurelius Victor discovers he carries a spark of the War God’s blood—a gift that turns his gladius into a scythe and his fury into a storm. Hunted by the Mithraic cult that fears his power, and coveted by the rival heirs of Palmyra and Gaul, Victor must choose: become a pawn in the divine game, or carve a myth of his own from the ruins.
